Dorney Park Teaser Pics
Sep 15, 2003New Dorney Park photos? We spent the afternoon at Dorney yesterday and I managed to snap 244 pictures. I figured roughly 1 in 6 will make the final cut, so that means about 40 new pics when I get the time to fully update that gallery. Until then check out this cute little preview:

I’m also pumping out last weekend’s Great Adventure pics and that gallery should be updated before the weekend. See, I prepared you all for the worst, but the updates aren’t as few and far between as I feared. I should be able to keep the site fresh and updated all winter long with pretty steady updates. Where Are The Updates?
Sep 5, 2003Where are the updates? Short answer - on hold. For the long answer read on:
I knew I’d be swamped with real life issues after we returned from the August trip. I fully anticipated waiting until mid-September to get the updates rolling again. What I didn’t anticipate was another move. When I first registered the coasterimage.com domain I was living in Jacksonville, FL - this gave me easy access to the Orlando and Georgia parks. That’s where this site got started. For 11 months I took photos down south. Then we moved to Allentown, PA. In fact we chose a place just 5 miles from Dorney Park. This gave easy access to the northeast parks. In fact, we’ve hit every major park on the east coast except King’s Dominion and many of the smaller ones too. We’ve been here for two seasons. Today I learned that coasterimage.com (well my family, but I am coasterimage) is moving yet again. We’re coming to Kennywood country before September ends… in two weeks to be exact.
Ok, so what. Where’s the updates?
In case you haven’t figured it out, the updates will be delayed a bit longer…but just a bit. That’s all the bad news I have. The good news goes like this:
I have 3 new parks backlogged. I have 1 special feature waiting. I have new Cedar Point pics and that gallery will see a total redo/update. I’m going to SFGAdv tomorrow and will have a total redo coming on that gallery. I’m making one more Dorney Park trip to say goodbye to a park I’ve learned to love over the past two seasons and will have a whole new set of pics and a total redo of that gallery can be expected also. I’ll be in Pittsburgh early enough to check out Kennywood’s Phantom Fright Nights. So there’s another gallery update. That’s 8 new, redone or updated galleries to come. The updates will easily roll into the new year once they get started again. Just let me get moved and into a new house and I’ll be off and running. That’s the short term good news. The long term good news is that yet another relocation gives us easy access to a whole new set of parks. 2004 should see many new galleries from the midwest and Canada. As an added bonus, I do know that our 2004 season starts where this whole journey began - Florida. Ironic, huh?
So basically, a little patience now will pay off big in the coming months. Bear with the minor and non-existent updates until October and then you’ll get the regular flow of new stuff well into the new year. March 2004 begins a new season for the coasterimage.com gang so the pics & videos will just keep coming. I’ll be updating little things as time permits, but for the real meat and potatoes, you’ll have to give me a little time.
My apologies to everyone who keeps checking back for new stuff, but man, it’s going to get good around here… real good.
