Steel Dragon Video, Waldameer Park Pictures

Jul 26, 2004

As promised, I added some Steel Dragon media for y’all to check out. Stop by the updated Waldameer Park gallery and check out a bunch of new photos (not just of Steel Dragon, but the park itself) and then head on over and download the new Steel Dragon Video. Should be just enough to make this Monday bearable. Enjoy.

I’ll have another gallery update soon enough (either Idlewild or Kings Island) and then it’s off on our big end of summer trip. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I’m guessing we’ll be covering 7 parks in 9 days and heading North. As soon as everything becomes final, I’ll pass along the verified info. Until then check out the Steel Dragon stuff.

Williams Grove Pictures

Jul 19, 2004

Another update! This time it’s Williams Grove pictures. Admittedly, I save these smaller galleries to fill in when I’m waiting for a bigger update. That bigger update should be here next week with photos and videos of Waldameer’s new coaster. We’ll be heading to Erie sometime this week.

Still, don’t be disappointed by a small update. The Williams Grove gallery contains photos of the world’s most insane and abusive wooden coaster, Cyclone! Plus, if you sort through all the ‘other rides’ photos, you’ll learn why the ultimate flat ride would be a Monster with an eyeball theme inside a church with “mit musik geht alles besser” painted on the side and a sno-cone machine right out front. Seriously, it’s scientific fact and I’ve proven it with this update.

Anyway, enjoy the new photos (hey, that makes 50 parks/locations in our photo galleries!) and check back later this week (monday at the latest) for the video and pics of Steel Dragon.

Kings Dominion Pictures

Jul 12, 2004

We have Kings Dominion pictures! With this update, coasterimage now contains more than 2900 photos! That’s a hell of a lot for one guy. It’s been a while since I reinforced the fact that I do this all myself (on the website end) - I’ve been to all these park, I’ve taken all of these photos myself. This isn’t an image depository where people from all over send me their pics, this isn’t the result of multiple photographers, this isn’t a collection of borrowed photos, this is little ol’ me getting my ass out there and snapping away. I can say with a good deal of confidence that I offer one of the (if not the) single largest original collection of amusement park photographs currently online. I don’t think there’s any other single person out there able to offer almost 3000 photos. It’s quite a feat and I like to brag…err, mention it once in a while.

This update also brings us over the 200 mark for number of coasters photographed. I’m sure there’s many of you reading this who haven’t even ridden 200 coasters (myself included, oddly enough) and here’s a collection of photographs covering that many coasters with more than 1600 photos of just roller coasters alone. That’s kind of the point of the site - to show what’s out there, to keep you guys enthusiastic about what there still is to do out there, to help relive the memories of that amusement park trip last summer, to capture all the fun with a push of the button and share it with thousands of visitors every day. It’s all good and that’s why we’re both here.

It also seems like a good time to thank every last person who I’ve forced to stand around aimlessly while I wait for the coaster to come around one more time for that shot that I’m sure is going to be “the best one on the site” - I wouldn’t be out there if it weren’t for you guys (and ladies) dropping everything, putting your lives on hold and hitting the road with me. (singing) “Sometimes when we touch, the honesty’s too much” - nevermind. If you’ve every visited a park with me, you deserve major kudos. Thanks for having the patience to “Wait for it!”

Enough with the mushy stuff - basically I have a ton of pics here that kick ass and you guys kick ass for stopping around and checking them out. Your friends would be cooler if they stopped by too. I know you want cool friends, so tell them to stop by and check it out. You won’t find better pics anywhere else.

Anyway, this update includes a new Kings Dominion gallery and a Volcano Wallpaper that has been gracing my desktop for a few weeks now. You’re a moron if you don’t snag this one!

Next up looks to be a quick trip to Waldameer and some coverage of their new spinning mouse coaster, Steel Dragon. Expect new photos and a video. Then in August we’ll be finishing the summer with a huge trip - details to be passed along as soon as they’re hammered out. Be sure to keep an eye out for new stuff, we’re 1 park shy of 50 and by the time I clear out my backlog of pics (including future trips) we should be over 60. Coasterimage.com keeps rolling, things keep getting bigger and better, bookmark the site now and make sure you come along for the ride.

Hereshey’s Chocolate World Pictures and Video

Jul 2, 2004

Two updates in one week! Ok, so the last upate was lackluster at best, but we’re picking up speed with this one. This time we have a special feature covering Hershey’s Chocolate World. There’s a handful of photos and a complete on-ride video from Hershey’s Chocolate Ride - all 8+ minutes. In case you haven’t looked around our featured items section - it’s all kinds of little weird things like that lumped into one neat package. No idea what’s up next…keep an eye out. Until then enjoy the Chocolate Ride video and just try to get that damn “Hershey’s choc-o-late” song out of your head. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of mind control.
