Theme Parks In North America, Amusement Parks in the United States
May 8, 2006The first round of site changes is finished. So what changed? Go take a look at the amusement park maps. Now instead of a single map detailing the parks we visited, you’ll find multiple maps detailing pretty much every amusement park, theme park and entretainment center in North America. 317 locations across Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the United States! It’s quite a daunting task to get all of that info together and there are times when judgement is used (how many rides before something is a park?), but it’s pretty complete. Take a look and if there’s a place in your neck of the woods to score some rides that I may have overlooked then drop me a line and we’ll take a looksy. I’m hoping on keeping things as current and comprehensive as feasibly possible, so any input is apprciated. You’ll also note that the markers differentiate between parks we’ve visited (a little over 25% of the parks in the USA at this point) and offer links to park sites.
The next step is to incorporate similar maps with additional info on the individual park gallery pages. Kind of a more visual interpretation of what you can already find on those pages, but with a little more info included. I’ve already started on that and hope to have that update online in the next week or two. I’ll also be taking the opportunity to update some of the older or outdated info in the galleries (name changes, moved and removed rides, etc.) at the same time.
Beyond that, there’s a few little changes - mostly layout, formatting or HTML/PHP stuff to clean up. Then finally we should be in a situation to start the 2006 season. We actually had plans for a little trip this weekend, but as seems to be the theme for this year, had some stuff come up and were forced to back off. At the very least, if things keep getting pushed aside I still know I’ll be at BeastBuzz in June and I sure would like to tack on a couple of extra parks to that drive, so it won’t be much longer.
Anyhow, take a look at those maps - there’s good stuff there.
