Wonderpark Pictures
Jul 24, 2006Short and sweet this time. New Wonderpark photos. Only a handful of pics there. I didn’t realize how few shots I took until I was going through them, but I guess in hindsight it makes sense - it’s really an arcade with some rides - and a gallery full of arcade games wouldn’t be too spectacular.
Other than that, not much. We’re planning out the rest of the season and before in the next few months we will be stopping by Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World, Beech Bend and Cedar Point. A shorter season than usual, but considering the craziness of things personally this year - still a good run. Plus, I promised I’d pick up all of the parks we missed at the end of last year’s big two week trip and by September, I will have delivered. That’s how I roll.
I still have Coney Island pics to get online and after that the aforementioned four parks will show up. I plan on using the offseason to clean up the site and get all the info back to current and then it’s planning for 2007 - and right now that looks to be two hardcore weeks in Central Florida doing the whole park circuit, but that’s almost a full year away.
For now, take a quick peek at the Wonderpark pics, keep an eye out for Coney Island (Ohio) stuff to show up soon and we’ll go from there with the trips to more new parks. By the end of this season we should have close to 5000 photos from almost 80 different parks. That’s pretty damn cool if you ask me.
Stricker’s Grove Pictures and Video
Jul 11, 2006Got another update coming your way - this time from Stricker’s Grove in Ross, Ohio. The park is only open to the public twice a year so those not from the area might not find many opportunities to stop by and sample the goods. That’s what we’re here for!
First up we have new Stricker’s Grove pictures added to the site. This makes 73 parks in the gallery - not too shabby. You’ll also notice that the main page in that gallery has a different look (with a interactive map in the corner replacing the text info). You can get a visual representation of nearby parks, find links to official site for more info and even score driving directions to the park - good stuff. Over the next few months I plan on swapping out all the main gallery pages to look like this. Of course, all new galleries will use the design.
But that really wouldn’t be enough, would it? How about a video showing the park as well? You got it! Check out the Stricker’s Grove video for a look at this little park in southwest Ohio. (available in a nice big widescreen format for your desktop or as a cute little package waiting to be viewed on your iPod, PSP or wherever)
I still have Coney Island (Ohio) and Wonderpark pictures to get online and I will as soon as possible, but first I have to finish up this move thing. We got our new place this past weekend and now have to head back to Pittsburgh to finish up things with the old place and deal with the movers. I’ll be back and forth over the next week and my internet access will vary depending on where I’m at so if you try to get hold of me this next week or so, be patient, it may take a day or two to get back to you.
I’ll keep plugging away at the new stuff as much as I can and as soon as things get settled, I’ll be back to updating things around here. Give me a week (give or take) and then check back for some new goodies.
Travel Update
Jul 4, 2006Just a quick check-in to keep everyone updated. For the 4th, we plan on hitting a handful of the smaller parks in the Cincinnati area - Coney Island, Wonderpark and Stricker’s Grove. Should be a good time and more importantly, you can expect the photos and whatnot to be added to the site with in the next week or less.
Aside from that, I did some small update stuff - things like the FAQ page and the schedule pages. Nothing too big. Have fun today celebrating the 4th (applies to US visitors only) and thanks to everyone for supporting the site whether you’re one of the super cool people who buy gear, someone who tells people to check out the site or you just enjoy browsing what we have here. I really appreciate the support, love that you enjoy the site and hope to keep delivering the goods for a long time to come. We all win!
