Silver Dollar City Pictures, Wildfire Video

Nov 20, 2007

The GIANT Swing at Silver Dollar CityHmmm. This update landed me with some nice round numbers. Let me explain. With this update the Photo Galleries now include 85 parks. That’s a nice number. With this update the site includes pictures of 350 roller coasters. That’s a nice round number too. With this update we have pictures of 800 rides & attractions. That’s a pretty round number as well. So what addition is responsible for all of these nice round numbers?

Silver Dollar City. There’s 103 new Silver Dollar City pictures to check out in the just added gallery. Some good stuff there.

And if that isn’t enough for you, then be sure to check out the Wildfire video too. Nice little video of Silver Dollar City’s multi-looper.

Consider it my little Thanksgiving treat to you. So when you’re sitting around the table with your family on Thusday make sure you give thanks for the plentiful bounty of coaster goodness provided by your friends at coasterimage.com - I’m sure your family will appreciate it. Then when they look at you like you’re a complete fool, explain to them the joys of coasterimage and gather them all around the computer to share the goodness…the late football game is going to be a blow-out anyway. Why not share something more exciting with your family?

Seriously though, enjoy the holiday.

That’s it for this one. I’ll have more goodies added sooner than later.

Best Photography, DVDs Coming Along

Nov 12, 2007

It's a major award!Just a little update on things. I forgot to mention it last week but Coasterimage.com was voted Best Photo Site in Coasterdom’s 2007 Coaster Web Awards. 47% of the vote - and I didn’t even come out and beg everyone for votes. That actually means something. It means you guys appreciate the work I put into this and that’s pretty kick-ass. Thanks to everyone who voted. You can see the list of winners here.

I spent much of last week working on the 2007 DVD. I got a pretty nice menu system put together and completed most of the layout, animations, sound and whatnot. I’m still trying to work on way to handle the much larger size of this year’s DVD compared to the last two. I have some ideas.

For now, I’m taking a small break from it to get on some new photos this week and should have those up sooner than later. In the meantime, you might want to sign up with our mailing list and/or subscribe to the YouTube Channel and you’ll receive occasional update notices in your inbox. It’s an easy way to keep up with what we’re doing. I’m also going to get RSS feed links together for the update pages in the near future - so that’ll be another option to keep up with things around here. It’s all good.

Check back for the new photos later in the week.

Brand New Cedar Point Pictures

Nov 3, 2007

Top Thrill DragsterSo here’s the Cedar Point Pictures that I’ve promised. 60 new ones in all - some really good new Maverick Pictures and a ton of Halloweekends Pictures. A few others tossed in here and there. The Cedar Point gallery is almost 500 pictures large - that’s some serious coverage.

Finally, it looks like I’ll get started on the backlog of photos from our summer trips. In case you haven’t been paying attention, I have ten new parks and three special feature photo galleries to get on the site in the next few months. One of those updates will include a new video too. On top of that, I’ve slowly started getting the 2006/2007 DVD together and it’s much larger than I expected. Like to the point where I’m going to have to figure out a way to keep the download size down. I have some ideas though, so don’t despair…there will still be free DVD’s for all…just don’t be surprised if there’s an alternative option as well. Expect that before the end of the year.

Not much else to cover this time. Don’t forget about the merchandise we have - it is pretty much the holiday season after all. And as always, if you want the occasional reminder about the site, check out the mailing list.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Go check out The Internet’s Best Roller Coaster Poll. It’s a yearly poll run by Mitch Hawker and uses some serious algorithms to create a ridiculously accurate and detailed snapshot of the preferences of voters. So if you dig coasters and want your opinion heard, be sure to head on over and partake. The wooden coaster poll is currently live and the steel coaster poll is just around the bend. Good stuff.

Until we cross paths again…
