Silver Dollar City Pictures, Wildfire Video

Nov 20, 2007

The GIANT Swing at Silver Dollar CityHmmm. This update landed me with some nice round numbers. Let me explain. With this update the Photo Galleries now include 85 parks. That’s a nice number. With this update the site includes pictures of 350 roller coasters. That’s a nice round number too. With this update we have pictures of 800 rides & attractions. That’s a pretty round number as well. So what addition is responsible for all of these nice round numbers?

Silver Dollar City. There’s 103 new Silver Dollar City pictures to check out in the just added gallery. Some good stuff there.

And if that isn’t enough for you, then be sure to check out the Wildfire video too. Nice little video of Silver Dollar City’s multi-looper.

Consider it my little Thanksgiving treat to you. So when you’re sitting around the table with your family on Thusday make sure you give thanks for the plentiful bounty of coaster goodness provided by your friends at coasterimage.com - I’m sure your family will appreciate it. Then when they look at you like you’re a complete fool, explain to them the joys of coasterimage and gather them all around the computer to share the goodness…the late football game is going to be a blow-out anyway. Why not share something more exciting with your family?

Seriously though, enjoy the holiday.

That’s it for this one. I’ll have more goodies added sooner than later.

New Holiday World Pictures, Video & More

Oct 11, 2007

Goodies! This time I have new Holiday World Pictures, a brand spankin’ new Holiday World Video and a cool new Voyage Wallpaper that reminds me of an old time postcard image for some reason. Plus, there’s a new Raven Panoramic photo and a couple of new 3D pictures from Holiday World as well. Be sure to check it all out - you can’t go wrong with Holiday World goodness.

I think I finally have all of the real-life business behind me and this should be the first in a string of constant, frequent and numerous updates that will probably last pretty much until next spring. How’s that for a promise?

You also might have noticed more and more pages converting over to the ‘new’ look. I’m putting those out as I get time. Slow and steady for now. Right now the site is a bit of a mish-mosh of recent style changes. It will be slowly working itself out to one consistent style over the next couple of months, so be patient.

Not much else new. We still have one more trip before this season ends for us. I have tons of photos, still more video, a couple of special features and a new 2007 DVD on the way in the coming months. At least 10 ‘Courics’ worth (the right people got that) of material to add, so keep checking back.

And if that’s too much of a hassle, then sign on to the mailing list and we’ll let you know when something worth looking at gets added. Cool?

Geauga Lake Video

Sep 28, 2007

With last week’s announcement that Geauga Lake would reduce operations to waterpark-only starting with the 2008 season, I decided it’d be a good time to take all the unused video from our Opening Day visit earlier this year and put together a little Geauga Lake Video. No fancy edits, no crazy tunes - just footage of the park from opening day 2007 - remembering the way it was. Enjoy.

Aside from that I’m still working on the back-end and visuals for the site in my spare time. The main page of the site has switched to the newer look and I’ll be rolling that same look out across other the areas of the site as time permits.

Also, we’re a few hours away from heading out to Santa Claus, Indiana for CoasterBuzz’s Fall Affair event at Holiday World. Should be good fun. Definitely lots of pictures and video coming back. I’ll just add it to the pile of pics and video I have sitting here backlogged already.

Speaking of which, I still have TONS of new material I need to get online. Things should be settling down enough to get on it sooner than later. I already have enough stuff to keep updates coming until next season, so this winter should be fun around here.

I guess that’s all for this one. Enjoy the Geauga Lake Video…I’m off to Holiday World for the weekend!

Fun Spot Pictures, Afterburner Video, Zyklon Video

Aug 24, 2007

Another day, another update. This time I have almost 50 new photos and two new videos - all from Fun Spot Amusement Park. If you want to see all the new stuff as efficiently as possible, I suugest first looking at the Fun Spot Pictures and then from there snagging a copy of the Afterburner video and then a copy of the Zyklon video. Good stuff.

Aside from that I just wanted to take another chance to thank all of you for visiting the site. Traffic is up and coasterimage.com remains one of the (if not THE) most trafficked amusement park media site on the internet. I truly appeciate the support and if you like what you find here remember to pass the good word to a friend.

Speaking of amusement park media, I’m not sure you’ll find a more complete collection anywhere. We have the photo galleries. We have videos. We have specialty photos like the panoramics and 3D photos. We have tons of downloads including game files, wallpapers and even Winamp skins. We have special features full of related material. We have merchandise. We have interactive maps - great resources for research, general info and trip planning. It’s the full package.

What I find most amazing is that this website is generally a passive experience. Many roller coaster or theme park sites rely on their users to supply the content via forums, trips reports, video submissions, photo submissions and the like. This site doesn’t work that way. I do all the dirty work and all you have to do is enjoy. It’s an experience I’m proud to be able to offer everyone who stops by. Again, thanks to everyone.

As far as the near future, I still have tons of stuff to get online and still even more trips planned for this year. The photo galleries alone should be past 6000 photos from almost 100 parks by the time I get it all online. I have more video to add and I have a few special features to include as well. This fall/winter we’ll get the 2006/2007 DVD available - free of charge, of course! (I might even offer an ‘at cost’ alternative with additional features included, but that’ll be decided later) - all in all there’s tons of new material coming your way. Coasterimage.com remains the place to be.

If you want to keep up with all the action a couple of good ways (besides stopping by regularly) are to join the mailing list and/or subscribe to our YouTube channel. You’ll be notified when there’s new media ready for consumption - and I won’t fill your inbox with a constant barrage of useless promotional messages. Just a friendly reminder every month or so letting you know what’s up.

I think that covers it all this time. In case you didn’t catch it the first three times - I appreciate the support. The more you support the site the more I can give back.

Celebration City Pictures, Fireball Video, Ignite The Night Video

Jul 6, 2007

We’re off again for another weeklong amusement park trip, but first we have updates. Celebration City becomes the 81st park added to the photo galleries and there’s 72 new Celebration City pictures to enjoy. But the fun doesn’t stop there.

There’s also two new videos from Celebration City! One features the super-intense flat ride, Fireball in action and the other covers the park’s Ignite The Night show. It’s a 20 minute show billed as the midwest’s largest laser & fireworks spectacular. So be sure to give those a look while you’re here.

That would be a pretty sweet update as it stands, but I’m tossing even more into the deal. How about a brand new Ozark Wildcat wallpaper? It’s a fun one too.

But wait, there’s more. I updated the souvenir cups section with the offerings from our latest trip. Yeah, it’s silly.

I think that’s everything for this update. We leave later today for Atlanta. We’ll be stopping by Six Flags Over Georgia on our way to Florida. Over the next week we’ll be hitting a handful of parks - Alabama Adventure, Lake Winnie, Six Flags, Waterville USA and some others. If you happen to be in that neck of the woods, keep an eye out for us and feel free to stop and say hello.

That’s it for now…I’m off to Florida!
