Download The Deja Vu Video (Six Flags Great America)
In 2001 Six Flags built three of Vekoma’s new “Giant Inverted Boomerang” coasters at different parks throughout the chain – one each at Magic Mountain, Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia.
Initially the rides were plagued with problems and to this day many people swear they’ve yet to get a chance to ride one, but I personally have seen all three running every time I’ve visted one of the respective parks.
The coaster in this video is the ride at Great America. It really is a unique and intense experience with both forward and backward vertical lifts and three inversions taken in both directions as well.
As of 2005 only 4 of these coasters were built – the trio of “Deja Vu” coasters at Six Flags parks and another in Spain.
In 2008, two of these coaster were removed. The one in this video was relocated from Six Flags Great America to Silverwood Theme Park where it gives rides under the name, Aftershock.
