In 2009 the skyline at Kings Island changed forever when they added Diamondback – the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the park’s history. Standing 230 feet tall and reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour, Kings Island billed Diamondback as “the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster ever.”

Diamondback was the first B&M roller coaster in the USA to use the open-air stadium style seating and the layout features 10 drops, two helixes, a hammerhead turn and a splashdown finale all packed into a mile of track. Diamondback covers 10 acres of land, cost $22 million to build and is the Kings Island’s 15th roller coaster.
