Disney World Recap
Our week at Disney World went way too fast and came to an end way too soon. I apologize for the sporadic updates from the park, but to tour Disney World – to really see as much as possible – in a week is quite exhausting. Sometimes there just isn’t enough time. So now from the comfort of coasterimage.com headquarters, I bring you a quick recap of the week’s events along with photos that serve as a brief preview of what to expect to see from the new Walt Disney World photo galleries.
Saturday January 31st
We arrived in the early afternoon after spedning the morning flying in to Orlando. We admired the view from our hotel room and headed out to the Magic Kingdom to start big. We ended up catching the Dream Along With Mickey show, The SpectroMagic Parade and Wishes before turning in for the night. (Hey, getting up at 5am sucks butt)
Sunday February 1st
We spent the day at the Magic Kingdom doing all the major attractions. A little Big Thunder here, some Space Mountain there. We caught some shows including Capt. Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial. Having seen most of what we wanted to see by late afternoon, we did what any good Steelers fans would do and heading back to the room to watch the Black & Gold win their sixth ring.
Monday February 2nd
Our stop at Hollywood Studios on Monday was good and bad. Good in that we rode Tower of Terror at will. Bad in that the rain severely hampered everyone’s day. We made the best of it trying to do shows and indoor stuff like the Indiana Jones Stunt Show, but the rain got the best of us and we cut the day short.
Tuesday February 3rd
We really hit our stride when we swung by the Animal Kingdom. Everything seemed to fall into place and we did everything we wanted to. Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, rides, shows and even Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade. Animal Kingdom tends to close early, so we spent the evening at Downtown Disney.
Wednesday February 4th
The plan was a late start and a day exploring the countries of the World Showcase at Epcot. Things went so well that we managed to see all there was to see and do in all the countries along with completing several Kim Possible missions. We even ended the night with some rides on Spaceship Earth before seeing Illuminations.
Thursday February 5th
We decided on a second day at Epcot to explore the front of the park getting all the major rides and attractions in Future World that we missed the day before and truly exploring every nook and cranny of the park before catching dinner and then Illuminations a second time.
Friday February 6th
This was a free day and given the rainout on Monday at the Studios park, we decided to go back. Again, good planning paid off as we did everything and then some. Rock N Roller Coaster, Tower Of Terror, rides, shows, lunch at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe and we topped it all off with Fantasmic! – A perfect way to end the trip.
Saturday February 7th
The plan was to spend the morning at the Magic Kingdom, but we decided to sleep in a little and take our time getting out. We took some final laps around the hotel and had lunch off property after checking out and then caught our flight home.
I took more photos than I care to admit to. I got some HD video that I want to go back through and take another look at - mostly ride and show experiences. It was a great trip and I’m looking forward to sharing it with everyone as soon as possible. Might be a good time to subscribe to my YouTube channel or become a fan of the site on Facebook to make sure you’re getting the latest updates.
