BUSCH GARDENS / DIAL SOAP

Lately I've had the knack of finding different items with an amusement park sponsorship of some kind while shopping. Who knows how long (or if) my luck will hold up - but being the coaster geek I am, I have to pick this crap up. More than likely I'll never use it, but what enthusiast doesn't keep every last piece of coaster or park related junk they can get their hands on? I'm as lame as the rest of you and this page proves it. I'll update it whenever I stumble across something new. That could be tomorrow or it could be in approximately 38 years - who knows? I mean, how much of this sort of thing can really go on?

Just click the little thumbnail images for a full sized, high resolution shot of the product in question.

Busch Gardens / Dial SoapHere's some Dial brand antibacterial soap that for some reason also sports the Busch Gardens logo and a graphic of many african animals riding a roller coaster. How can you not love a bunch of animals from the continent of Africa taking a spin on their favorite coaster. Sure the monkey has his hands up, but he's scared...he's scared to death. And the elephant...take a good look at him. He's going to have a serious case of the munchies in about 22 minutes. Hell, it's got the Busch Gardens seal of approval and that has to mean quality - I mean, I dig all their parks. I haven't washed my hands in years but if I do I'm anticipating some special roller coaster scent - perhaps with a hint of serengeti plains animal. Sounds like a winner to me. Better expectations than say, a graphic of farm animals riding an old sock.

Busch Gardens / Dial SoapAlmost one year later I stumbled across an alternate Busch Gardens/Dial soap. Not nearly as perplexing as the stoned African animals riding coasters, it features a mother and baby tiger nuzzling adoringly.
I'm still waiting for farm animals riding an old sock...

KENNYWOOD POTATO PATCH FRIES

Potato Patch FriesTwo photos here. The first showing the front of the bag and the second a section of the back. Basically the idea here is that they've taken the yummy goodness of Kennywood's famed Potato Patch fries and packaged it into a little frozen morsel of joy for home use. As the bag states, these are only sold at Giant Eagle supermarkets so you need to have one of those close by (basically close enough to Kennywood to go get the fries anyway). But still, if you crave that Potato Patch taste, this is a way to get it. The detail from the back of the bag is a brief history of the park. You'll also notice that the bag proclaims "Specially cut for small fryers." Well, most guys I know won't admit to having a small fryer. So what about those of us with big fryers...freakishly huge fryers...the kind of fryer you could make money selling pictures of? What about us? At least it's nice to know the good folks at Kennywood don't suffer from fryer envy...

Potato Patch Fries I would like to mention that these fries (while certainly of equal quality to 'brand' name fires like Ore Ida) tasted nothing like Potato Patch fries. The did have a unique taste though that offered a decent alternative to the gazillion other frozen fries in stores.
