| "The
largest toy store in the world" is how this Toys R Us is billed.
Five floors of toy filled bliss await you as you step through the doors
to this Times Square store. Toys R Us had it's grand opening in November
2001. Why a special feature on a toy store? Becuase this toy store features
one of the most unique Ferris Wheels around and has theming throught that
would rival many amusement park's. Front and center upon entering the
store you're greeted by a five story indoor ferris wheel with cars modeled
after various childhood playtoys. Attention to theming on this ride is
top notch and I've yet to see a ferris wheel at any park with this kind
of look. In addition to the ferris wheel the store features a large dinosaur
greeting you at the entrace to the Jurassic Park section of the store.
The T-Rex roars and moves and overall is very similar to the dinosaurs
found at Universal Studios Orlando. There are large lego sculptures throughout
the lego area of the store and even a full sized Barbie Dream House that
you can walk through. We spent an hour or two in Toys R Us and still didn't
really get to see everything. If you're ever in NYC and make your way
to Times Square be sure to stop by Toys R Us - it's almost as much amusement
park as it is retail establishment. |
