Just wanted to drop in and give a quick update as to what’s been going on with things here at coasterimage.com headquarters.
As you probably noticed we took 2011 off. Completely. Not a single amusement park trip. It’s the first time since 1992 that I haven’t stopped by at least one amusement park during a calendar year. After a decade of hardcore travel, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel good. We’re looking to get back out there in some capacity in 2012. Rather than big sweeping trips picking up all coaster things large and small like a bulldozer, expect ...

I used to be pretty big into the Roller Coaster Tycoon Games and then RCT3 came out. Talk about a buzzkill. I’ve never hidden my disdain for that game. I tried to like it, but soon just found myself uninterested. Not long after I removed all the Roller Coaster Tycoon pages from coasterimage.com and forgot about it. But in the time since then, it seems other sites and search engines were still linking to those old pages and I’d get inquiries as to where my old creations could be downloaded. Truth is, I didn’t keep any of those old files. They ...

With this update the main photo gallery on this site now features 8000 photos. That’s almost stupid in it’s enormity if you think about it. After 10 years and 8000 photos, it’s still just me pumping this visual madness out to the masses. You know where you need to be for the best roller coaster and amusement park media. You’re cool like that.
So what is it that takes us to this milestone? Let me tell you what it is. It’s 93 new Busch Gardens pictures. There’s some really nice stuff in there too. Tons of Griffon photos. Some new ride photos. ...

76 brand new, butt kicking, eye blinding, brain melting, awe inducing Six Flags America pictures! How’s that sound? I hope it sounds pretty good because that’s exactly what I’m serving up this time around. As usual you can be a gluttonous little coaster monkey and check out the special gallery I put together with just the new Six Flags photos or you can be a connoisseur and delight in contrasting the new photos with the older ones I took on our last visit to Six Flags America 8 years ago in the full Six Flags America photo gallery. Either way you ...

Just a quick ‘Real Products’ update this time. Been seeing Six Flags ticket offers on different food items lately. The worst part is that it’s stuff I probably wouldn’t buy otherwise, but I grab just to bring home an photograph to add to my theme park and roller coaster based website. How screwed up are my priorities? At any rate, go take a peek at the Real Products feature and check out some of the crap I’ve found theme parks sticking their names on. The latest additions are the Six Flags ticket offers I found on Baked Beans and Guacamole.
As far ...

Move over dad ’cause I’m a double-dipper! Upside down on the zip-zip-zipper.
This time I have a new video for you. Video of a ride that’s getting harder and harder to find these days – the Zipper. It’s esentially a moving torture device, but it’s fun as hell. Even better is that I have video of the only non-traveling Zipper left in the world. You have to make your way to Ocean City, Maryland and visit the good folks at Trimper’s Rides to find it. All of the other Zipper rides left in operation travel about with fairs and carnivals and such, ...

Let’s start the new year with some new photos. 81 brand spanking new Kings Dominion photos from our trip last summer. Lots of Intimidator 305 pictures, some great Dominator pictures – all kinds of goodness. You can set your pretty little eyes on the full Kings Dominion photo gallery or you can just look at the new Kings Dominion photos. Your choice.
Don’t forget about the Intimidator 305 video (complete with fist-down-your-throat soundtrack) or the Crypt video (do I still have to mention they’re in HD?) or even the Intimidator 305 wallpapers. Because you’re missing out if you skip them. And you ...

Ok, there’s no cake. I just wanted to make a subtle Spinal Tap reference and that was a much better title for this update than the other thought that crossed my mind which was, “Cupdate” (like cup+update – nudge nudge) and I’d have been forced to punch myself if I actually typed that, so you get the Tap reference. But I digress.
It’s time for the yearly update of the silliest feature on the entire coasterimage.com domain – Souvenir Cups! I added this year’s take to the collection and I highly encourage you to click on over and look at photographs of ...

Just in time for Halloween, I have a video that’s a lucky 13 minutes long detailing the ins and outs of Happy Jack’s Toy Factory at Cedar Point’s Halloweekends. Dan from Live Entertainment tells us more than we could ever hope to know about this haunted attraction while we take a peek inside to see the factory up close and personal in a way that you never could during the night when the factory – and the toys – come to life. Celebrate this Halloween by grabbing a handful of candy and checking out the Happy Jack’s Toy Factory video.
