Bushkill Park was just 20 minutes down the road from
us in Allentown. One slow Sunday we decided to make a quick stop.
One word descibes this park - quaint. The small, old rides would
probably not be of interest to most thrill seekers, but for a day
with the family I found the park charming and was very interested
in some of the classic rides still operating there. The entire park
is very small but we still managed to spend a few hours. The Barl
Of Fun is a great old "funhouse" with a large rotating
barrel you can walk through and a huge wodden slide. You can still
grab for rings on the carousel. The bumper cars were great. Huge
old cars, steel hitting steel, just the way it was meant to be.
If you're ever in eastern Pennsylvania and understand going in that
you're not visiting your average amusement park then Bushkill would
be a nice way to spend a few hours. |
