| We
stopped by Como Town at the end of one of the longest days of our
big two week trip in 2005. The day started at 6am with a ferry ride
across Lake Michigan, followed by a long drive across Wisconsin
and into Minnesota through heavy thunderstorms and finally saw us
showing up at the park late in the day under overcast skies and
a light drizzle. Just three weeks earlier Como Town had undergone
a complete transformation as a new ride vendor had just taken over
operations (Como Town resides in the middle of a large public park)
and were still putting the finishing touches on things. The rain
had forces a couple of the rides down and the park was empty. Despite
all the setbacks we rather enjoyed our short time there. It is primarily
a kiddie park with smaller rides, but still tons of fun (especially
if you have kids) and the staff was ridiculously accomodating even
to the point of taking photos (after offering to, not after our
asking them) of the family so that we could all be in them. Yes,
Valleyfair and Camp Snoopy are nearby, but with a great collection
of kiddie and family rides and the public park setting, I would
definitely make a point to stop by again if ever in the area. I'd
recommend it to anyobne else as well and even more so if you have
children - you won't be disappointed. |
