We
moved to Allentown in November 2001. At the time I wasn't too familiar
with Dorney Park. As fate would have it, we ended up choosing a
place to live that was just 5 miles from the park. All that winter
we drove by in anticipation of opening day. Summer rolled around
and with season passes in hand, we spent more time at the park than
anyone has the right to. Dorney definitely ranks among my favorite
parks. Talon is a top notch inverted coaster. Steel Force is a solid
hypercoaster. Laser delivers everything you'd expect a Schwartzkopf
designed coaster to. Thunderhawk is (in my opinion) one of the most
underrated woodies around. The staff is among the friendliest I've
encountered at any park and last, but not least, you can get a frozen
Mountain Dew Code Red. What more could you ask for. Sadly, 2003
saw us leaving the area and in all honesty, Dorney is about the
only thing I miss. (well, that and the proximity to NYC) |
