Idlewild sits just about an hour outside of Pittsburgh,
yet I'd never been there. That changed over Memorial Day weekend
in 2004. We visited Idlewild as part of a three park, two day outing
leaving ourselves a full day for Idlewild as our past experience
with KennyCorp owned parks was always exceptional. Idlewild did
not break this trend. It's a wonderful little park set in a wooded
area and just oozing with charm. A step back in time in every sense
but not outdated in any way. Rollo Coaster is a fun little wooden
coaster and Wild Mouse has to be one of the most unique mouse experiences
anywhere. Storybook forest offers old school fun for young children
and the collection of classic flat rides should please just about
everyone else. Probably worth a trip on its own and certainly deserving
of a stop if in the area park hopping. Idlewild won't leave you
disappointed. |
