Phoenix has quite a unique history. It was originally known as the Rocket at Playland Park in San Antonio. In 1980 the Rocket quit operating. In 1985 Knoebels decided to move the whole damn coaster to their park. It cost $1.5 million and since no blueprints were available, every board was numbered for reassembly. Today Phoenix consistently ranks as one of the best wooden coasters in the world. Not too bad an investment!
