There aren't many amusement park choices in Michigan. Fortunately, one of those choices is Michigan's Adventure. It's a great mid-sized park located in Muskegon. A collection of 6 roller coasters, the full assortment of standard flat rides and a good sized waterpark make it a well rounded experience. The highlight of the park is the behemoth coaster that greets you as you enter the parking lot - Shivering Timbers. It's a huge wooden airtime machine that runs along the edge of the parking lot seemingly forever and makes an intimidating first impression on visitors. The other coasters each offer something for all types of riders. Definitely a complete collection if not a notable one. Park atmosphere is right up my alley - if you've been to other Cedar Fair owned parks like Dorney Park or Cedar Point, you know what to expect. The employees were friendly, but not annoyingly so and were eager to help or offer a smile. It may be a little off the beaten path for most park related travels, but if you ever find yourself in west-central Michigan and need a coaster fix, Michigan's adventure will certainly do. |
