Shivering Timbers opened in 1998 as essentially the mother of all out and back, airtime wooden coasters. It was immediately a hit with coaster enthusiasts everywhere and still today ranks among the best wooden coasters in the world according to most polls.
The layout is hill after hill after hill for over a mile. The support structure only adds to the massive look of the whole ride and it sits right along the parking lot / entrance to the park so it makes a huge first impression to incoming guests.
This video is a simple one, showing a lap on the ride. The only thing missing is a shot of the helix that finishes things off. Take a look.
