It's 3am in Benton Harbor, do you know where your children are? Mine are watching Ed, Edd & Eddy and refuse to go to sleep.

Today was about as uneventful as a vacation day can get. We drove. Then we drove some more. Then we kept driving. Then we continued to drive.

We got off to a late start (much later than anticipated) and didn't roll into town until about 1:30am. We chose Benton Harbor because it is relatively close to my wife's family who lives in Michigan and because we wanted to stay at a Marriott hotel.

This place doesn't look like a Courtyard at all. I'm guessing it was a local 'inn' style place and then rebranded by new owners. It's a really unique place - especially for a Courtyard. I'll snag some pics tomorrow.

The drive from Pittsburgh was mind numbing. 90% of it took place on I-80 and it's second in sucky drives only to crossing Florida on I-10. It all looks the same - which is to say there's nothing to look at except for trees, rest stops and other cars on the road. It's also the first time ever that we've driven I-80 across Ohio and not pulled off at the exit to 250 and stopped by Cedar Point. Sigh.

Tomorrow is another laid back day visiting with my wife's aunt & uncle. I'm hoping to check out Lake Michigan - even though we'll be seeing it up close and personal when we take the ferry from Ludington to Manitowoc on Monday morning.

I apologize for the short, uninteresting report to kick things off, but it really was just 400 miles and 6 hours of driving. Maybe tomorrow will bring some excitement and at the very least we start hitting the parks on Sunday.
